The focus of the annual preconvention program is a review of primary risk management issues facing senior management and ownership in 2016. This will be a fast paced educational session with resources to support current policies and compliance rules. Data base issues will focus on the MDS 3.0 Assessment and billing documentation. Compliance rules with current updates and policy statements will be discussed. Audit activity will be discussed identifying key payment and data base issues that precipitate oversight and audits. CMS has released new survey protocols and tasks related to MDS Accuracy and Dementia care which must be included in staff training and operational focus. This session will discuss all the primary risk management issues that senior managers must address to maintain compliance and prepare for regulatory oversight.
