A GREAT NEW PROGRAM FOR THE NEW YEAR!
The Importance of the Interviews in the MDS 3.0 Data Collection Process
The MDS 3.0 assessment tasks require that a number of interviews must be completed with each assessment. Many of the interview results impact the care planning, quality measures and the PDPM payment calculation. Properly completing the interviews is an interdisciplinary requirement impacting members of the IDT and the care giving team. This session will review all of the interview requirements and the impact of the interview results on PDPM rates, quality measures and care plan creation. A focus for clinical professionals, social service, and MDS managers. A very practical session discussing interview techniques, documentation requirements and care planning interventions. Bring your team for an informative fast paced learning experience.
Objective:
1) Identify all the interviews required for the completion of MDS 3.0 assessment.
2) Review the connection of the interview scores to the PDPM payment rate determination.
3) Discuss the impact of the steps for assessment directions in the RAI manual on the accuracy of the documentation in the medical record.
4) Describe documentation formats for interview activity and the impact of current regulatory requirements in the assessment tags.
