Review of the CMS Updates for Skilled Nursing Facilities

– F.Y. 2025 Proposed Rule 3-28-24

This interactive session will review the major changes that CMS is proposing for payment and regulatory processes taking effect for Fiscal Year 2025. Payment changes that will rebase rates to 2022 costs and changes to Value Based Purchasing language are two of the major upgrades included in the proposal. PBJ data process changes are suggested and will be helpful so providers can review and correct reports. Providers need to be aware of the proposed positive changes to the N.T. A. payment component and their ability to suggest additional treatments and diagnostic categories as well. A must do session for Administrators, Clinical Leadership, corporate managers and team leaders. Specific documentation changes and risk management will be discussed.

Objectives: 1) Identify the main categories of data and regulations that are being considered for changes

2) Discuss upgrades to Value Based Purchasing program and payment implications

3) Review data review and editing for P.B.J. program reports that will improve accuracy of reporting and lower risk

4) Discuss changes to the survey citation and civil money penalty structure of the federal survey process
