Update - Data Accuracy Requirements 2021
The new P.D.P.M. payment system for Part A Medicare
claims requires significant coding, documentation and functional scoring from
the MDS 3.0 data base. This session will review the changes in coding
directions, items impacting payment calculations and the structure
of the MDS documents.CMS has emphasized new data analytics to apply to facility databases that will identify the need for audits or ADRs.
This session will identify database content and criteria for external reviews. Strategies for establishing proactive internal audit processes will be discussed and case examples will be presented. A must do session for operational and clinical professionals as well as MDS managers. The payment system utilizes a large number of MDS data items that will be the focus of this training

data on the 5 day admission assessment in the first 7
days of the stay.
4) Discuss policy and procedure content to direct the
staff documentation during the
assessment
reference period.
5) Identify the data components for the new QRP
quality measures related to functional outcomes.
6) Review management approaches and competency
activities related to the documentation
and data changes.
