October 1, 2024 Updates- Assessments, Audits and Compliance for S.N.F. Operational and Clinical Leadership

Skilled Nursing Facilities must prepare for many policy and data formulation changes to the MDS 3.0 1.19.11 Assessment Process. This session will review the regulatory, policy and data related documents for Operational and Clinical leaders to share with their teams. Regulatory Changes to the Facility Assessment involves new documentation and data analysis. The session will review the specific formats needed to satisfy the requirements. The final payment rule has many new definitions, rate setting formulas and pro-active data changes. Audit activity is significant for the 5-Claim Audit program and Validation audits will begin for QRP changes. Coding changes to the MDS data set will be discussed and the pro-active data set changes for October 2025 have also been identified. A very active day with discussion of operational and policy changes to meet regulatory standards and timelines for new processes.

Operations, October 1, 2024 Objective 2 – Impact of Facility Assessment documentation and data review and new analysis for operational teams Objective 3 – Review impact of current compliance guidance on regulatory activity and audit outcomes. Objective 4 – Discuss MDS coding changes on the 1.19.11 Assessment and review RAI Manual resources for October 1, 2024.
