New Teaching Tools for Documentation Formats to Document Data and Connect MDS 1.18.11
It is an exciting time for Operational and Clinical Managers to evaluate their data formulation and reporting processes working with updated software, the MDS 3.0 1.18.11 data set and an RAI Manual (October 2023) with many definitional and data collection changes. Important words from this consultant; “Be careful.” This session will introduce some of the best tools and formats to collect and document compliance and specific coding in the new process. A must do session for facility leadership and MDS Managers to review and evaluate the many products and teaching tools available for training and establishing competency formulation, reporting and data utilization by CMS and other federal agencies will be addressed. The multicolored MDS 3.0 1.18.11 has a new format and includes references to the Q.M.’s, PDPM payment items, SNF QRP, Quality Measures, SPADES data elements and revised CAA triggers. A fast paced, interactive learning session with copies of the new formats provided.
Objectives:
1) Identify tools and formats available to facilities to improve data accuracy.
2) Discuss importance of documentation tools to produce reproducible data.
3) Review the new documentation definitions and formats required by the 1.18.11 MDS 3.0.
4) Describe the use of teaching and documentation tools to improve compliance and audit outcomes.
