New Issues with Quality Measure Calculations – Analysis of MDS Data Changes for Newly Activated Quality Measures (January 1, 2025)
CMS has established new calculations for the Quality Measures that were suspended, using new definitions, exceptions, and covariant data. This session will focus on the new data items that are currently being used to create the provider specific Quality measure reports. Operational, Clinical, and MDS department managers need to carefully review the new data, measurements, and calculations impacting the outcome statistics.
The newly recalculated Quality Measure reports (IQIES) can impact 5-star levels, Value Based Purchasing Calculations, and quality Reporting Programs reports and fiscal outcomes.
A must do session to review management approaches, possible reporting risks and
payment outcomes.
Objectives:
1. Review the updates to the Quality Measures Manual v17.0 2. Describe specific changes to data and calculations for revised Quality Measures
(January, 2025)
3. Identify changes impacting 5-Star Ratings and Quality Measure Reports
4. Review the specific data changes that frame the Quality Measure database
5. Discuss steps administrators can initiate to assist their interdisciplinary team to adjust to the new data format
