The Fundamentals of the MDS 3.0 Assessment
A Basic MDS 3.0
Program
This program
provides information necessary for all operational and clinical staff members as
well as members of the interdisciplinary team with the specifics needed to
implement the MDS 3.0 process. A basic review of the entire structure of the
MDS 3.0 and coding instructions for professionals new to the assessment data
set. We will be discussing the MDS items effective October 1, 2019. A must do
session for all members of the interdisciplinary team, operational managers,
and nurses new to the MDS process!

reserve if you do not have the most current update.
Objectives:
1. Review the content
and structure of the MDS 3.0 for the October 2019 update.
2. Describe items
new to the MDS 3.0 and identify the definitions.
3. Discuss the
assessment techniques and interviewing questions unique to the MDS 3.0 and
P.D.P.M. payment process.
4. Describe the operational
system changes necessary to accomplish accurate assessments with the MDS 3.0
process.
5. Discuss
interdisciplinary participation and documentation requirements.
6. Review the
schedule of MDS Assessments and definitions of new
data
sets in the system.
Pre-registering
is required as seating is limited.
