Course Objectives:
- Identify the overall structure & resources available to understand the process required to complete the MDS 3.0 & discuss the operational implications for management of an accurate and timely compliant assessment process
- Identify the data collection process for the MDS 3.0 and how to accurately utilize it to create accurate and timely data from the many source points within the facility
- Discuss the data use and impact of data accuracy on RUG IV payment, regulatory risks, and outcome documentation
- Review the specific structure and directions for the four interview new to the MDS 3.0 assessment process, discuss the training and coordination of the interviews, documentation of interview data and the timing of the interview activities to comply with the rules
- Describe the new scheduling for assessment completion, assessment types and proper validation processes
- Identify the participants the policy and process updates as well as the definitional changes in the MDS 3.0 processes

Course Description:
As specified by the Ohio Administrative Code 3701-18-09, participants of this program must be:
- RN or LPN with a current, valid active Ohio license
- Primary Instructor shall have a minimum of two years experience in caring for the elderly or chronically ill of any age
- Program Coordinator shall have a minimum of two years of nursing experience as a licensed registered nurse, at least one of which shall be in a provision of long term care facility services
- Employment verification documentation is required for registration
You MUST be pre-approved for this course prior to attending. An application will need to be filled out along with necessary paperwork and approved. Payment must also be made prior to beginning class.
