MDS Issues – Payment Changes – Expansion of Quality Reporting – Documentation Issues
This interactive session is focused on Operational, Clinical and Assessment staff leadership. The payment levels are changing and the team needs to understand how to approach changes in policy and staff education.
Quality Metrics have been changing and data collection processes as well as claims data will impact those reports. Data accuracy and documentation quality in the medical record must be identified before audits produce denials, payment returns or legal charges.
This session will identify the newly established standards for data quality and introduce strategies for improving quality reporting and timing of transmissions. A must do session will review the changes
and describe approaches for leadership to improve compliance and quality of the facilities database.
Objectives:
1) Identify changes to payment levels and data documentation October 1, 2026
2) Describe dangers of PDPM Stability with significant risk related to coding accuracy and documentation quality
3) Review current assessment issues and discuss preparation for all payor skilled MDS reporting
