MDS 3.0 Update for Long Term Care Facility Administrators, Clinical Leadership and MDS Coordinators and IDT Members

Course Description:

The final copy of the MDS RAI 3.0 manual will be released October 2017, yet internal reviews indicate the need for significant  training.  This direction from CMS now gives us the specific directions and coding instructions for the new sections of the MDS assessment that will be implemented by all Skilled Nursing Facilities in October 2017.  There are many changes to the MDS 3.0 form as well as new data collection instructions for the PPS discharge assessment (Section GG and a new discharge assessment form). October 2017, we will implement new items including Section N- Medications and Section P-Restraints and Alarms.  With these many changes and no federal or state training being offered I would like to invite everyone to join me for a very active and interesting two day session focused on the new information and the implications for Administrators, Clinical  Managers, Billing, IDT team members and MDS managers.  All of this information is new and will be essential for proper documentation.  We will also discuss the newest of the Quality Measures that will impact the Five Star Ratings for all facilities in July of 2016.  This includes the first claims data based Quality Measures related to re-hospitalizations, Emergency Department visits that elders make within the first 30 days after admission.  This will be a two day session with credits from the National Administrators Board – total of 12 hours.  This will be a unique opportunity to get the latest accurate information in a positive and interactive environment.  We encourage all facility managers, clinical and therapy and MDS managers to attend.
